Rainy Soccer Season

Hope everyone is having an excellent Monday! It is raining here, and we are just hanging out at home today, and doing housework. In fact, right now John and Kylie are running and jumping into my piles of laundry that I sorted. The funniest things keep them entertained. It looks like we have almost nothing planned this week, besides the usual soccer practice, soccer game, and church activities. It should give us some time to recoup from the last few very busy weeks we have had.

Here are the two pictures I took at the soccer game this Saturday before my camera battery went dead. The weather was very nice, and the kids played probably the best they have yet. At this age, they don't keep score of course, but we lost 3-2. In fact, we have lost every game this season so far! This has been a difficult season with half of the practices rained out, and a few of the games as well. Even when we have had practices, the weather has not been very good. It's very hard for these first time soccer players to get a good grip on the game, when they have not been able to have consistent practices. Add in the age factor (Kylie is the oldest having just turned five in February, and John is the youngest at 3 1/2), and their attention span and endurance in a game has also been an issue. John David is doing better, but he still stops after every kick to flash me the thumbs-up sign, completely oblivious to the fact that the other kids are still playing! They are having fun though, and John is really starting to enjoy it. We have three more games till the end of the season, so hopefully the weather will hold up for us. Love you all, and thank you to God Almighty who has for now blessed us with these.
