Spider-John

It has been a long day, and it's only 3:00! Jeremy is on a business trip to Parkersburg, WV, and will be back tomorrow night, but we are all having "Daddy Withdraw"! I just went to check on the boys and make sure they were asleep, and I couldn't help but take the two pictures above. John David is obsessed with Spiderman right now, and I just bought him a new Spiderman suit this morning. He refuses to take it off, even the mask. I have a feeling, he will be wearing it to church tomorrow night! You can't really see good on the pictures, but he is sound asleep in his bed with his Spiderman suit still on. At lunch today, he almost wouldn't even take the mask off to eat, till he realized he couldn't get food in his mouth! :) All we hear all day long, is "I'm Spiderman, you be the Green Goblin!" Or, "I'm going to use my web on you!" Luckily, Jeremy usually takes on the Green Goblin role, but since he's been gone, we all know who's been playing the part. A couple times, John has even gone as far as asking us to not call him John, but "please Mommy, my name is Spiderman." I'm hoping his Spider Fever will wear off soon, or at least simmer down a bit. I have to admit, though, that it does make me laugh. On another topic, we had an escape happen yesterday. I had gotten the bird cage down Sunday night and forgot to put it back up before I went to bed. Corey was the first one up the next morning. I was awakened by him and his "I did something very bad" look. All I heard was him say something about the bird, and I went tearing out to the kitchen. He had let the bird out of the cage! She is a tiny little thing and very hard to catch. It took awhile, but I did eventually get her back into her cage. Well, I am going to go and enjoy my last few minutes of quiet before the natives awake! :) Love you all and thank you to God Almighty who has for now blessed us with these.

Caitlyn's Happenings

I thought you might like this picture of Caitlyn sewing. She has been wanting me to teach her how to sew, but we really haven't had a chance to do it. While my parents were here, my mom decided to get her started on some sewing. They made her doll a skirt, which Caitlyn hand sewed by herself! I was very proud of her, but had to laugh when she came to us distressed because she had sewed her sewing project to her skirt! I've also posted two videos below of Caitlyn and her violin. The first one is over 4 minutes long, but worth watching. the second has her using her bow! Enjoy!! Love you all, and thank you to God Almighty who has for now blessed us with these.

Trying To Recoup

Hello all, and I'm sorry that I haven't posted since last Thursday. I know that some of you get worried when you don't see any new posts! :) Don't worry, the children haven't tied us up and gone on a junk food frenzy!:) We're still here, and functioning. It has a been a bit of a rough week emotionally. Some things have been going on with Dawn and Corey's case that I can't get into details about, but it is getting resolved and things should hopefully get better. Then of course, my family left Sunday, and that always make me a little weepy for a few days. We are doing well though, and just trying to get back into our normal routine. It has been a very busy last two months. Jeremy is really enjoying his new job, and seems less stressed at the end of the day. I really love that he has his own office, and that means his own phone! I can call him as much as I want! Corey's chicken pox are healing, but we have discovered that he is highly allergic to flea bites. We have bombed a few times already, but we're planning to get an exterminator to come out soon. They are expensive!! We have never had a problem with fleas, but recently a few got in, and now we are having a hard time getting rid of them. It only takes a couple to get Corey all broke out. I will post tomorrow, and get everyone caught up on the odds and ends. Love you all, and thank you to God Almighty who has for now blessed us with these.

Corey and the Balloon Hand

Hello all. We have been enjoying my parents visiting. We spent a day at Busch Gardens and had a great time. Corey's chicken pox has been gradually getting better, and John David came down with them too, but a very mild case. Last night though, one of Corey's hands swelled quite a bit. It literally looked like a balloon! It was worrying us, so after speaking to the pediatrician, we took him to the emergency room. It was a good thing we did, he has a staph infection! It is a complication of his chicken pox, and luckily we caught it early. They have put him on some powerful antibiotics, and we're keeping a close eye on him for the next few days. Please pray that the antibiotics work quickly. The doctor said that it will take as many as 3 to 4 days to start working. If he gets any worse we will have to take him back to the hospital and they will admit him. It doesn't seem to be bothering him any, he's as active as ever! I'll update you all in a few days. My family leaves Sunday morning. We all have really enjoyed having them here. My sister has been here for two weeks, and even though I'm sure she's ready to go home, it will be a tearful goodbye for sure! Love you all, and thank you to God Almighty who has for now blessed us with these.

Corey Has Chicken Pox

It looks like Corey has chicken pox. Hopefully none of the other kiddos will get it. They've all had their chicken pox shots, but that doesn't mean they definitely won't get it. The poor little guy is covered with them, and he even has some in his hair! We started the Benadryl, Callydryl lotion, and Aveeno oatmeal bath regimen and he seems to be more comfortable. He is really bad about picking and scratching so I'm keeping him in long sleeves and pants. It's been really hot here, but we're keeping him cool inside of course. Well, I'm off to stick him in another bath. Pray that it doesn't turn into an epidemic here! Love you all, and thank you to God Almighty who has for now blessed us with these.

Aunt Rea Stays!

My brother gave my sister a free plane ticket, so she could fly out to help for a few days after we got back from Wisconsin. She has been a huge help, and definitely has been a big part of the reason we have quickly gotten back to our normal schedule around here. She was supposed to fly back home today, to work for a few days, and then come back Sunday with my parents for their originally scheduled vacation/visit. Anyway, she decided to just stay, and now I get two whole weeks of my sister!! I couldn't have asked for any greater encouragement! Love you all, and thank you to God Almighty who has for now blessed us with these.

Kylie Gets Her Yellow Belt

Here are a few videos I took yesterday of Kylie at Tae Kwon Do. From where the parents sit, I couldn't get a great video, but they're not bad. Kylie got her yellow belt yesterday, which was exciting for us. For being four, she does pretty good, and is the youngest in her class. Her biggest distraction during class? The big mirror that covers one wall! She likes to watch herself. Surprise, huh? This is my second post today, so be sure and catch the first one! Enjoy!

Caitlyn's Surgery Update/Wisconsin Trip Recap

Hello all, and boy are we glad to be back home! Here is a picture of all the kiddos and Grandpa Marvin. As much as we loved getting to see a majority of our family this month, it has been hectic and we are happy to be on our way to returning to our version of normal. We left Saturday morning the 30th of June, and returned Friday night the 6th of July. We traveled over 48 hours on the road! We rented a conversion van for the trip, which was a big life saver. We obviously could not afford plane tickets for all seven of us, so the van rental helped make us all a little more comfortable. We made a pit stop both ways in Ft Wayne, IN, at my aunt and uncle's. Thank you to Nanny and Aunt Vicki for all your help this month!! My parents flew up to Wisconsin to help us with the kids during the first few days we were there. This was such a blessing since the first two days were filled with the viewing and the funeral. Jeremy spoke a bit a the funeral, and did a wonderful job. I think because he was family, his words were a bit more comforting to everyone. Even though it was a time of grieving for the family, we all took advantage of the time we had with everyone, and made some great memories with the original Knutson Klan. Whether it was playing with sparklers on the 4th, catching toads at Grandma Knutson's, swinging from the barn rafters, or riding the motorbike, we filled our time with laughter and smiles. When we returned, my sister had flown in to help around here for a few days, and that has been greatly appreciated! She leaves tomorrow, but will be back this weekend when my parents come for their summer visit. Please continue to pray for our Grandpa Marvin, while he continues to grieve the loss of his dear wife. Caitlyn had her surgery this morning, and is doing fantastic! She is up and around, and playing like nirmal. Her eye is quite swollen and draining a bit, but it should look better soon. According to the doctor there is a chance that the chalazion will return, but we are praying that it is gone for good. I have added two new slide shows, so be sure and check out the new pictures. I have uploaded a video of Kylie at Tae Kwon Do, and will post it later today. Love you all, and thank you to God Almighty who has for now blessed us with these!
