Monday Morning Funnies 8/31

An Evening at the Park

Several days ago, Jeremy and I took the kids for an evening play session at the park. We packed some yogurt pops that we made ourselves, some drinks, and headed to the playground. Luke really had a great time, and the "big kids" enjoyed running around crazy! The weather was so nice, and unusually mild compared to the hot and humid weather we've been experiencing here. Enjoy the pictures of our fun at the park. Love you all and thank you to God Almighty who for now has blessed us with these.

Mommy forgot to put shoes on Luke before we left, so he was pretty dirty by the end of the evening. He even had a layer of mulch stuck to his rear end!

The Cupcake Monster

Luke's first birthday party was this weekend. I have lots of pictures that I will be posting soon, but until then I had to post this picture and its story. The night before the party, as I'm baking the cupcakes and getting all the last minute details in order, I was trying to keep an eye on the dog to make sure that he didn't grab one of my cupcakes off the edge of the table where they were cooling. He is infamous for his snatch and run technique! Little did I know that he wasn't the one I should have been watching. I turned around to find Luke with a half eaten cupcake at his feet. My little cupcake monster wanted to be sure and get the first taste of his birthday cake!

Caitlyn the BeeBop Queen

Sunday, Caitlyn informed us that she was going to be singing at church Sunday night with a couple of her friends. We weren't surprised because she often sings in front of Junior Church and has once sang in front of the whole church. Our Preacher is so nice to let the girls do this, and I'm so glad that we go to a church that allows the youth the opportunity to participate in worship. Anyway, I was so glad that I had the video camera handy because Caitlyn surprised us all with a very confident performance. And if I do say so myself....she was the best one up there!

Look Who's Walking!

Luke is walking! It is definitely bitter sweet. While I am so excited and proud to watch him tackle this new skill, I am very well aware of that fact that these are the last "first steps" here at our house. My mommy heart is breaking with every step! I've been trying to get a good video of him walking, but he hasn't quite mastered it just yet, so here's a video montage of his attempts. Enjoy!

VBS Recap

As many of you know, last week was Vacation Bible School at the good 'ole Hyles Baptist Church. After spending this week recouping from the crazy week, I have finally gotten around to posting about the awesome time we had. As VBS Director, I get the privilege of picking our church's VBS Curriculum. This year we went with Group's Rome: Paul and the Underground Church theme, and it rocked! It was so incredible to watch the Bible come alive every night for all those kids. We had a great turn out as usual with close to a hundred kids. Jeremy played the part of Paul, and the children visited him every night in "jail". He did a fantastic job (even though he had to wear his "man dress" every night as he called it), and the little ones really thought it was all real. :D Here' a few pictures from our week, and from the VBS Family Night party. Jeremy and the men teachers all ate worms as part of a promotion we had going on that week, and John David won an award for "Best in Class"!

Our Soon-To-Be Ballet Pro

Saturday was Kylie's big day! I took her over to our local dance studio and signed her up for ballet/tap. She was so excited. She had a hard time deciding between ballet/tap and irish stepdance. Eventually she decided on the ballet/tap because she wanted to wear ballet shoes. It's all about the shoes, right?! After we registered her and ordered her tap and ballet shoes, it was off to buy a new leotard and dance skirt. Kylie and I rarely get to go do things just the two of us, and we really enjoyed shopping together. When we returned home it was time for her to show off her new stuff to everyone. Classes start the week of Labor Day, and she can't wait. Actually, I can't either. I know she will do great and have a fabulous time! She's growing up so fast! Love you all and thank you to God Almighty that Kylie didn't inherit my lack of gracefulness!

Look Who's on the Front Page!

Look who's on the front page at Dittany Baby! We were so excited to be part of the Dittany Baby Back To School Ad. I recently did a product review for the company, and they asked if they could use the pictures I took. How cool! Caitlyn was pretty excited, and even Daddy thought it was cool.

The Color Brown: A Mommy's Worst Fear

When I saw this....I started audibly praying, "Please Lord, don't let this be poop!" Thank the Lord, it was not! The kids had pudding cups with their lunches, and apparently one didn't make it to the trash. Luke and the dog found it, and had themselves a little snack. :)

A Regular Evil Kinevil

Over the past few weeks, we've had lots of bicycle news. First. Caitlyn's bike got stolen. Don't worry, we haven't found it yet, but one of our good friends gave her a new bike. Second, Kylie has definitely mastered riding her bike without training wheels now, and is obsessed with riding it constantly! And lastly, John David graduated to a bigger bike, with training wheels of course. I know...it's about time! Poor kid's been riding a tricycle and he's almost five years old! On his new bike however, Jeremy showed him how to do a "jump". It's more like a mini wheelie. John thinks he's a crazy good bike rider now, and that his new trick is so cool. I took this video on Sunday afternoon while he was showcasing his talent. In the video you can see Kylie flying past him. She is really doing great! Love you all, and thank you to God Almighty that they haven't broken any limbs....yet!

Monday Morning Funnies 8/3

This is my favorite one! Deja Vu!:
