We're Back

We are back form Tennessee..have been back since Saturday evening. I currently have not had a chance to get the pictures uploaded from the trip. Soon...I promise!! We had a great time, and are glad to be home. While we were gone, Luke turned six months old! He has his six month checkup tomorrow, so I'll post when we get back. Love you all, and thank you to God Almighty for a safe trip!

Lukey and the TV

Luke has been what we call a "TV Baby" since almost the day he was born. He LOVES watching TV. I took a couple pictures this morning of him watching PBS. As you can see from the pictures, he is also sitting very well now. Besides an occasional falling over, he sits very steady. Too cute!

Valentine's Comes Early

We are leaving Saturday for a long awaited trip to Tennessee. First we are heading to my parents for a couple days, then Jeremy and I and Luke are heading to Gatlinburg for some quiet time, while the big kids hang out with Aunt Rea, Grandma, and Poppy. We will be returning to Virginia the next weekend. Since we will not be here for Valentine's Day, the kids and I had our own Valentine's Day yesterday, complete with heart shaped pancakes for breakfast with Daddy, heart sandwiches for lunch, and a fun Valentines treasure hunt. The treasure hunt turned out to be a hit, and as the kids followed the heart shaped clues to find their present, they were getting more and more excited. The present was just some dollar stuff from Target (markers, coloring books, memo pads, Valentines nail files, batman stickers, etc.), but they didn't care. Watching Kylie's face as Caitlyn read the clues was priceless! I will be sure to post lots of pictures when we return from our trip. Luke is teething, so please pray he isn't too fussy. Also, please pray for safety on the highway. There's a lot of crazies out there! :) Love you all, and thank you to God Almighty for my little Valentines!

Kylie's Birthday

Tomorrow is actually Kylie's birthday, but since we are heading out of town this weekend we had her party last Saturday. Pam, Billy, Bre, Candy, Mark, and Abby were all there along with Kylie's friend Grace who spent the night. Her cake was my version of a sand castle, and it was a hit with the kids and adults alike. Among her many presents, Kylie got a bunch of Littlest Pet Shop stuff that she wanted, and a Webkinz cat. I know I say it everytime, but I can't believe she's 6 already! Here's a few pictures from her party. Happy Birthday Smylie Kylie!

Project Completed!

Jeremy finished our new school/play room last weekend. It is awesome! We love it! These pictures show just how incredible a job Jeremy did. The room is now full of books, desks, and school paraphernalia. We have been doing school in there all week, and it is such a blessing! Enjoy the pictures!

Chewy's Dental Hygene Habits

This afternoon as I was walking down the hallway, I looked at Chewy's crate and saw him chewing on something. Since he's gotten a hold of several toys and diapers lately (yuck!!), I rushed over to see what it was. It was a toothbrush and flosser that he had retrieved from the bathroom trash can! It looked like he was trying to brush his teeth! So funny, but he still got in trouble. I took a couple pictures. Also, I included a picture that I found of Chewy around the time we got him. He has gotten so big already!! Love you, and thank you to God Almighty for moments of laughter!

Our New Addition

Jeremy and I have been trying to come up with a solution to our space issues here at the house. We have outgrown our lovely little house, but are not ready to upgrade to a bigger house just yet. The solution? Jeremy is turning our screened in back deck into a play room/school room. Our biggest space issue is always a place for the kids to color and do crafts, and a place for school to convene. All this takes place at the kitchen table, which makes dinner time impossible until everything is cleared off the table. In order to renovate the room, we had to get rid of our hot tub. It was kind of sad, but we need the space worse, and it went to some friends who I know will get great use out of it. Anyway, I am so thankful that my husband is sooooo handy! He has done all the work himself, and in just a week and a half has almost completed the room. He has built walls, insulated, installed windows, installed a new door, removed the hot tub, put in a new floor, and paneling on the walls. I"m sure there are lots of other things that I know nothing about, and I really appreciate all his hard work!! As you can see from the pictures, it has come a long way. I am so excited, and can't wait to use our new school room!

On another note, I am feeling much better, and am thankful that the medicine is working well. I really can't afford to be in the hospital with pneumonia! My family needs me healthy! Also, the kids went to the dentist today, and there was good news and bad. Only one small cavity out of the three of them, but both the girls' teeth are extremely crowded. They are going to have to start pulling some of Caitlyn's teeth out to make room for new ones coming in. Also, Kylie still has a big gap where her front two top teeth were, and the dentist said the new ones won't be in for awhile yet. Oh well. She is too cute that way anyway! Love you all, and thank you to God Almighty for a very talented husband!

Mr. Frosty

We finally got some snow here, but as usual, it was barely a dusting and it was melted and gone within hours. First thing this morning, Jeremy and I were awaken by little children with stories of snow everywhere! After a quick breakfast, out they went to play in the snow. They built a snowman (or should I say a snowbaby)on the picnic table out back, and were inside asking for a carrot and candy to use for the face. My favorite was his cardboard necktie. :)It was a good thing they went out early, because after we returned from our dentist appointment, the snow was pretty much gone. John David isn't exactly a fan of the cold, but he did well, that is until Caitlyn hit him in the face with a snowball! The craziest thing about the snow? Yesterday, it was 62 degrees and the kids were outside without coats! Enjoy the pictures of "Mr. Frosty"!

Caitlyn Turns 8!

Once again, I am behind on my blogging, but at least this time I have an excuse. I have been really sick over the past week or so. I finally gave in and went to the doctor last Friday. Sure enough, I was starting to get pneumonia, and had severe bronchitis. I am finally starting to feel better today, so I wanted to make sure and post about Caitlyn's birthday. I can't believe she is eight now! Caitlyn had her friend Christine spend the night on Saturday night and we had pizza from Ledo's (our favorite, and cake and icecream. Caitlyn got a Webkinz, and an Easy Bake Oven. She also got a few craft sets, and some Easy Bake Oven mixes. We were excited to have Pam and Billy and Bre celebrate with us! Caitlyn's cake was so fun to make, and she was really happy with it. The flowers and butterflies are made out of starburst candies that I softened and rolled out. After the food and presents, the kids had fun playing with silly string (video below). What a mess! Over all I would say that Caitlyn had a very happy birthday! Tomorrow I'll post about Jeremy's latest home improvement project, and this one's a big one! Love you all, and thank you to God Almighty who for now has blessed us with these.
